A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I find thoughts crossing my mind that I would rather fall from the sky than utter."He replied, "That is pure faith."
حدثنا أبو الجواب الضبي الأحوص بن جواب قال حدثنا عمار بن زريق عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح
جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إني أحدث نفسي بالحديث لأن أخر من السماء أحب إلي من أن أتكلم به قال ذلك صريح الإيمان
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim reported it in 1/119, no. 132, in the Book of Faith, chapter on explaining whispers regarding faith, and Abu Dawud reported it in the Book of Manners, chapter on repelling whispers, 4/329, no. 5111.
