The Prophet ﷺ said, "The angels of the night and the angels of the day gather together at the Fajr prayer and at the Asr prayer."He said, "They gather at the Fajr prayer, then the angels of the night ascend and the angels of the day remain. And they gather at the Asr prayer, then the angels of the day ascend and the angels of the night remain."He said, "Their Lord then asks them, 'How did you leave My servants?'"He said, "They reply, 'We came to them while they were praying, and we left them while they were praying.'"Sulayman said, "I only know that he said in this hadith, 'So forgive them on the Day of Recompense.'"
حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو قال حدثنا زائدة عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح
عن النبي ﷺ قال تجتمع ملائكة الليل والنهار في صلاة الفجر وصلاة العصر قال فيجتمعون في صلاة الفجر قال فتصعد ملائكة الليل وتثبت ملائكة النهار قال ويجتمعون في صلاة العصر قال فيصعد ملائكة النهار وتثبت ملائكة الليل قال فيسألهم ربهم كيف تركتم عبادي قال فيقولون أتيناهم وهم يصلون وتركناهم وهم يصلون قال سليمان ولا أعلمه إلا قد قال فيه فاغفر لهم يوم الدين
