The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer of any one of you will be answered as long as he does not become impatient and say, 'I prayed to my Lord, but He did not answer me.'"
حدثنا إبراهيم بن أبي العباس قال حدثنا أبو أويس قال قال الزهري إن أبا عبيد مولى عبد الرحمن بن عوف أخبره أنه
قال رسول الله ﷺ إنه يستجاب لأحدكم ما لم يعجل فيقول قد دعوت ربي فلم يستجب لي
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Ubayd is Saad bin Ubayd, freedman of Abdul-Rahman bin Awf, so it is said, but the more well-known view is that he was the freedman of Abdul-Rahman bin Azhar, as Mizzi stated, and he was also a companion and a cousin of Abdul-Rahman bin Awf, both of them being from Zuhrah. He is trustworthy.The hadith was narrated by Bukhari, 8/92, in the book of supplications, "the servant's prayer is answered so long as he does not grow impatient", and Muslim, 4/2095, no. 2735, in the book of remembrance, explaining that the one who prays is answered so long as he does not grow impatient, and Abu Dawud, 2/78, no. 1484, in the book of prayer, on supplication, and Tirmidhi, 4/464, no. 3387, in the book of supplication, on what has been said about the one who grows impatient in his prayer, where he said, hasan sahih, and Ibn Majah, 2/1266, no. 3853, and Malik, 1/213, no. 29.
