The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The heart of the elderly remains young in its love for two things, a long life and abundant wealth."
حدثنا أبو أحمد حدثنا سفيان عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ قلب الشيخ شاب على حب اثنتين طول الحياة وكثرة المال
Its isnad is sahih. It was mentioned previously at 8684. Muslim narrated it, 724, no. 1046, in the Book of Zakat, chapter on the dislike of craving worldly life. Tirmidhi narrated it, 4/570, no. 2338, in the Book of Zuhd, chapter on what is said about the heart of the elderly. And Ibn Majah narrated it, 2/1415, no. 4233.
