The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There was a prophet among the prophets who used to draw lines, so whoever's practice matches his knowledge, that is the correct knowledge."
حدثنا أبو أحمد حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الله بن أبي لبيد عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ كان نبي من الأنبياء يخط فمن وافق علمه فهو علمه
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Greetings, chapter on the prohibition of divination, 4/1749, no. 2230, and Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Medicine, chapter on lines drawn in divination, 4/16, no. 3909.
