The Prophet ﷺ said, "Name yourselves with my name, but do not take my kunya as your own."
حدثنا حسين حدثنا جرير عن محمد
عن النبي ﷺ أنه كان يقول تسموا باسمي ولا تكنوا بكنيتي
Its isnad is sahih, it appeared previously at 3371. Bukhari related it in 1/38, in the Book of Knowledge, chapter on the sin of lying about the Prophet, as part of a longer hadith, and in 3/86 with its wording, and Muslim in 3/1684, number 2134, in the Book of Manners, chapter on the prohibition of using the kunya Abu Qasim, and Ibn Majah at 3735.
