I believe he attributed it to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "There is no severing of ties beyond three days. Whoever severs ties with his brother for more than three days and then dies will enter the Fire."
حدثنا حسين حدثنا شيبان عن منصور عن أبي حازم
وأحسبه ذكره عن النبي ﷺ قال لا هجرة فوق ثلاث فمن هجر أخاه فوق ثلاث فمات دخل النار
