Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wakes from sleep, let him pour water over his hands from his vessel three times before dipping them in, for he does not know where his hand spent the night."Qays al-Ashjai said, "Abu Hurayrah, what about when one comes to your large stone water basin?"Abu Hurayrah replied, "I seek refuge in Allah from your mischief, Qays."

عن أبي هريرة قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا استيقظ أحدكم من نومه فليفرغ على يديه من إنائه ثلاث مرات فإنه لا يدري أين باتت يده فقال قيس الأشجعي يا أبا هريرة فكيف إذا جاء مهراسكم قال أعوذ بالله من شرك يا قيس
