The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A Dinar for a Dinar and a dirham for a dirham, with no excess between them."
حدثنا محمد بن إدريس أخبرنا مالك عن موسى بن أبي تميم عن سعيد بن يسار
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الدينار بالدينار والدرهم بالدرهم لا فضل بينهما
Its isnad is sahih. And al-fadl means "the surplus." The hadith is found in Muslim, in the Book of Musaqah, no. 85, Nasai 7/278, Ibn Majah 2261, Malik 632, Ibn Abu Shayba 7/101, and Hakim 2/20.
