The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand people are safe, and the believer is the one whom people trust with their lives and their wealth."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا ليث بن سعد عن ابن عجلان عن القعقاع عن أبي صالح
عن النبي ﷺ قال المسلم من سلم الناس من لسانه ويده والمؤمن من آمنه الناس على دمائهم وأموالهم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It is found in all the Sahihs and Sunan works, and it has already appeared at 6515. Bukhari related it in 1/9, Muslim in the Book of Faith no. 69, Abu Dawud 2481, Tirmidhi 2627, and Nasai 8/105.8915-M1 With this same chain, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that he said, "For every child of Adam a portion of zina has been written, which he will inevitably encounter. The eye's zina is looking, the ears' zina is listening, the hand's zina is grasping, the foot's zina is walking, the tongue's zina is speaking, and the heart yearns and desires, and the private parts either confirm that or deny it." Sahih (8915-M1)Its chain of transmission is sahih, like the chain before it. It has already appeared at 8582. Hakim graded it sahih in 2/470, and Dhahabi agreed with him. A similar wording is found in Muslim, in the Book of Divine Decree, hadith 21.8915-M2 With this same chain, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that he said, "On the Day of Judgment, a man's hoarded wealth will become a bald-headed serpent with two black spots, following its owner while he seeks refuge from it.
