The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "One dirham has surpassed a hundred thousand dirhams."The companions asked, "How is that, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "A man had only two dirhams, and he gave one of them in charity. Another man went to a portion of his wealth and took out a hundred thousand dirhams, then gave it in charity."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا ليث عن ابن عجلان عن سعيد المقبري والقعقاع بن حكيم
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال سبق درهم درهمين قالوا وكيف ذلك يا رسول الله قال كان لرجل درهمان فتصدق بأحدهما فانطلق رجل إلى عرض ماله فأخذ منه مائة ألف درهم فتصدق بها
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ahmad narrated it alone, and Nasai narrated it with the wording "a single dirham surpassed a hundred thousand dirhams" (5/59, in the chapter on zakat, the effort of the poor), and Ibn Hibban (8/135, no. 3347, in Al-Ihsan), and Ibn Khuzayma (4/99, no. 2443), and Hakim (1/416), who graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
