The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Faith has sixty-four branches. The highest and most exalted of them is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the lowest is removing harm from the road."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا بكر بن مضر عن عمارة بن غزية عن أبي صالح
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الإيمان أربعة وستون بابا أرفعها وأعلاها قول لا إله إلا الله وأدناها إماطة الأذى عن الطريق
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Muslim, in the Book of Iman, Shuab al-Iman 1/63 no. 235, and with similar wording in Bukhari 1/9, in the Book of Iman, chapter on the aspects of iman, and in Nasai like Muslim 8/110 no. 5004, and in Tirmidhi 5/10 no. 2614, in the Book of Iman, chapter on what has been said about the completion of iman. It will also come with the wording "seventy-odd," and the two do not contradict each other. See 9332, 9709, 7910.
