Some people came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "We travel far out to sea and only carry one or two small water containers with us, for we do not catch fish unless we go far out. May we perform ablution with seawater?"He replied, "Yes. Its dead creatures are lawful to eat, and its water is purifying."
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد عن ليث عن الجلاح أبي كثير عن المغيرة بن أبي بردة
أن ناسا أتوا النبي ﷺ فقالوا إنا نبعد في البحر ولا نحمل من الماء إلا الإداوة والإداوتين لأنا لا نجد الصيد حتى نبعد أفنتوضأ بماء البحر قال نعم فإنه الحل ميتته الطهور ماؤه
