The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Delaying payment by one who is able is an injustice, and if any of you is referred for payment to a wealthy person, he should accept the referral."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا سفيان عن ابن ذكوان عن عبد الرحمن
إن رسول الله ﷺ قال المطل ظلم الغني ومن أتبع على مليء فليتبع
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari narrated it, 4/464, no. 2287, Fath al-Bari, in the book of transfer of debt, chapter on whether one may go back on a transfer of debt.
