The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that Allah said, "Pride is My cloak and greatness is My garment. Whoever contends with Me over either of them, I will cast him into Hell."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أنبأنا سفيان عن عطاء بن السائب عن الأغر
قال رسول الله ﷺ يعني قال الله الكبرياء ردائي والعظمة إزاري فمن نازعني واحدا منهما أدخلته جهنم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muslim reported it similarly in 4/2023, no. 2620, in "Righteousness, the prohibition of arrogance," from Abu Saeed Khudri, and Abu Dawud in 4/59, no. 4090, in "Clothing, what has been said about arrogance." It has already been mentioned under no. 7316.
