Our dowry, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was among us, was ten uqiyahs, and he clapped his hands together to indicate the amount, which equals four hundred dirhams.
حدثنا إسماعيل بن عمر قال حدثنا داود بن قيس عن موسى بن يسار
كان صداقنا إذ كان فينا رسول الله ﷺ عشر أواق وطبق بيديه وذلك أربع مائة
Its isnad is sahih, and Bukhari related it, 12/412 in Fath al-Bari, in the Book of Interpretation of Dreams, on drawing water from a well.Al-qalib means an abandoned well, al-dhanub means a large bucket, and al-gharb means a bucket larger than the dhanub, and the dhanub is larger than an ordinary bucket.
