The Prophet ﷺ said, "I would not like to have a mountain of gold and let three nights pass while a single Dinar of it remains with me, except for something I have set aside to repay a debt."
حدثنا خلف بن الوليد حدثنا ابن أبي ذئب عن أبي الوليد
عن النبي ﷺ قال ما أحب أن عندي أحدا ذهبا ويمر بي ثلاث وعندي منه دينار إلا شيئا أعددته لغريمي
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It is found in Muslim with a similar wording, 2/690, no. 992, Book of Zakat, concerning those who hoard wealth. It has previously appeared with a similar wording at 8579, and will appear again at 9390.
