A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Instruct me in something, but do not give me so much that I cannot retain it."He replied, "Do not become angry."The man repeated his request, and the Prophet ﷺ repeated his answer, "Do not become angry."
وبإسناده عن أبي هريرة قال أتى النبي ﷺ رجل فقال مرني بأمر ولا تكثر علي حتى أعقله قال لا تغضب فأعاد عليه فأعاد عليه قال لا تغضب

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari and Tirmidhi narrated it from Abu Hurairah, and Hakim narrated it from Jariyah bin Qudama, and Suyuti noted in his Jami Saghir that the hadith is sahih.
