The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the night I was taken on the night journey, when we reached the seventh heaven, I looked above me." Affan said, "above me, and there I saw thunder, lightning, and thunderbolts. Then I came upon a people whose bellies were like houses, with snakes inside them visible from outside their bellies."I asked, "Jibreel, who are these?"He replied, "These are the consumers of usury."When I descended to the lowest heaven, I looked beneath me, and there I saw dust, smoke, and voices.I asked, "Jibreel, what is this?"He answered, "These are the devils swarming around the eyes of the children of Adam to prevent them from contemplating the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Were it not for that, they would witness wonders."
حدثنا حسن وعفان المعنى قالا حدثنا حماد عن علي بن زيد وقال عفان حدثنا حماد أنبأنا علي بن زيد عن أبي الصلت
قال رسول الله ﷺ رأيت ليلة أسري بي لما انتهينا إلى السماء السابعة فنظرت فوق قال عفان فوقي فإذا أنا برعد وبرق وصواعق قال فأتيت على قوم بطونهم كالبيوت فيها الحيات ترى من خارج بطونهم قلت من هؤلاء يا جبريل قال هؤلاء أكلة الربا فلما نزلت إلى السماء الدنيا نظرت أسفل مني فإذا أنا برهج ودخان وأصوات فقلت ما هذا يا جبريل قال هذه الشياطين يحومون على أعين بني آدم أن لا يتفكروا في ملكوت السموات والأرض ولولا ذلك لرأوا العجائب
