The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I would not wish to have a mountain of gold like this, spending from it every day, only for three days to pass while any of it remained with me, except for something I set aside to repay a debt."
حدثنا هارون بن معروف حدثنا ابن وهب أخبرني عمرو يعني ابن الحارث عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب أن سليمان بن يسار حدثه أنه
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما أحب أن أحدكم هذا ذهبا أنفق منه كل يوم فيمر بي ثلاثة وعندي منه شيء إلا شيئا أرصده لدين
Suyuti narrates in Jami Saghir with the wording, "I would not like Uhud to be turned into gold for me, with a dinar of it remaining with me for more than three days, unless it is a dinar I set aside for a debt." Bukhari narrated it from Abu Dharr, and Suyuti also included it in Jami Saghir, indicating that it is sahih.
