Ali bin Abu Talib reported,

I used to come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ every morning. If he cleared his throat, I would enter, and if he was silent, I would not enter.He came out to me and said, "Something happened last night. I heard a rustling sound in the house, and there was Jibreel . I asked him, 'What kept you from entering the house?' He replied, 'There is a dog in the house.'"He said, "I went in and found a puppy belonging to Hasan under a chair of ours."Then he said, "The angels do not enter a house in which there is one of three things, a dog, an image, or a person in a state of major impurity."

حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا سفيان عن جابر عن عبد الله بن نجي

عن علي رضي الله عنه قال

كنت آتي رسول الله ﷺ كل غداة فإذا تنحنح دخلت وإذا سكت لم أدخل قال فخرج إلي فقال حدث البارحة أمر سمعت خشخشة في الدار فإذا أنا بجبريل عليه السلام فقلت ما منعك من دخول البيت فقال في البيت كلب قال فدخلت فإذا جرو للحسن تحت كرسي لنا قال فقال إن الملائكة لا يدخلون البيت إذا كان فيه ثلاث كلب أو صورة أو جنب
