The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you travel during a season of abundance, give the camels their due share of grazing. When you travel during a season of drought, quicken your pace. And when you wish to stop for a night's rest, move off the road."Affan said in his narration, "Suhayl bin Abu Salih informed me."
حدثنا عبد الصمد وعفان قالا ثنا حماد بن سلمة عن سهيل عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا سافرتم في الخصب فأعطوا الإبل حقها وإذا سافرتم في الجدب فأسرعوا السير وإذا أردتم التعريس فتنكبوا عن الطريق قال عفان في حديثه أنا سهيل بن أبي صالح
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It was narrated by Muslim, Abu Dawud, and Tirmidhi from Abu Hurairah, and Suyuti noted its being sahih in Jami Saghir.
