Witr is not obligatory like the prescribed prayers, but it is a sunnah, so do not abandon it.Shuba said, "I found it written in my notes that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Witr."

ليس الوتر بحتم كالصلاة ولكن سنة فلا تدعوه قال شعبة ووجدته مكتوبا عندي وقد أوتر رسول الله ﷺ
