The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is not one of you whose deeds will admit him to Paradise or save him from the Fire."They asked, "Not even you, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Not even me, unless my Lord envelops me with mercy from Him."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured with his hand like this, and Wahb demonstrated by clenching and opening his hand.
حدثنا وهب بن جرير حدثنا أبي قال سمعت محمد بن سيرين قال ثنا
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما منكم أحد يدخله عمله الجنة ولا ينجيه من النار قالوا ولا أنت يا رسول الله قال ولا أنا إلا أن يتغمدني ربي برحمة منه وقال رسول الله ﷺ بيده هكذا وأشار وهب يقبضها ويبسطها
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari and Muslim narrated something similar from the hadith of Abu Hurairah, and Darimi narrated it. It reads, "None of you will be saved by his deeds." Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Medicine from Abu Yaman, Muslim narrated it in the Book of Repentance from Muhammad bin Hatim and from Qutayba, and Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Asceticism from Abdullah bin Amir and Ismail bin Musa.
