The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whenever he finished the dawn prayer, would ask, "Has any of you seen a dream last night? Nothing remains of prophecy after me except the righteous dream."
حدثنا روح وأبو المنذر قالا ثنا مالك عن إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة عن زفر بن صعصعة بن مالك عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا انصرف من صلاة الغداة يقول هل رأى أحد منكم الليلة رؤيا إنه ليس يبقى بعدي من النبوة إلا الرؤيا الصالحة
Darimi narrated something similar in meaning, "Prophethood has gone, but glad tidings remain." He also narrated, "The dream of the believer is one part out of forty-six parts of prophethood."The first, that is, "Prophethood has gone, but glad tidings remain," was narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Majah, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih. The second was narrated by Ahmad, Bukhari and Muslim, Abu Dawud, and Tirmidhi.
