I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The destruction of my nation will come at the hands of young boys from Quraysh."Marwan, who was sitting with us in the circle before he held any office, remarked, "Then may the curse of Allah be upon them as boys."Abu Hurayra said, "By Allah, if I wished to name them, the sons of so-and-so and the sons of so-and-so, I would do so."He said, So I went out with my father and my grandfather to Marwan after they had taken power, and there they were, pledging allegiance to young boys from among them, including some on whose behalf the pledge was being given while he was still wrapped in swaddling cloth. He said to us, "Could it be that these companions of yours are the ones I heard Abu Hurayra mention, that these kings would resemble one another?"

Its isnad is sahih. What appears in the original, "Amr bin Yahya from Saeed bin Amr," etc., is an error. The correct reading is "Amr bin Yahya bin Saeed bin Amr," etc.Bukhari narrated it with the wording, "The destruction of my nation will be at the hands of young foolish men from Quraysh," in the Signs of Prophethood chapter, from Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Makki, and he also narrated it in the Tribulations chapter from Musa bin Ismail.
