A sahih hadith. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Friday Prayer, chapter on remaining silent on the day of Friday prayer while the imam is delivering the sermon. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, from Qanabi, and Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Prayer, from Qutayba. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Friday Prayer, chapter on remaining silent on the day of Friday prayer during the sermon, with an addition, Muslim 1/34.Malik narrated it in Muwatta, in the chapter on recitation during the Friday prayer and what is recommended regarding silence, with the wording, "If you say to your companion, 'Be quiet,' while the imam is delivering the sermon, you have committed laghw." As for the meaning of laghw, it has been said that it means you have lost the reward, and it has also been said that it means the merit of your Friday prayer has been nullified, and it has also been said that your Friday prayer becomes an ordinary noon prayer, and this is the view Ibn Hajar preferred [Zurqani, vol. 1, p. 214]. Laghayta is another dialectal form of laghawta.Nasai narrated it in the Book of Prayer, from Muhammad bin Salama and Harith bin Miskin, and from Qutayba, and Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Prayer, from Abu Bakr.
