I sent Miqdad bin Aswad to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to ask him about the prostatic fluid that comes out of a person and what should be done about it.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perform ablution and sprinkle water on your private part."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ahmad bin Isa bin Hassan Tustari Misri is trustworthy. Ibn Main called him a liar regarding his hearing from Ibn Wahb, but others declared him trustworthy. Bukhari and Muslim both narrated from him. Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 1/2/7 and said, "He heard from Ibn Wahb," without mentioning any criticism of him. Khatib said, "I have not seen, among those who spoke against him, any argument that would require abandoning reliance on his hadith." Here he explicitly states that he heard from Ibn Wahb, so he is to be taken as truthful, Allah willing.Makhrama bin Bukayr is trustworthy, though they disputed whether he actually heard from his father. Bukhari said in al-Kabir 4/2/16, "Ibn Hilal said, I heard Hammad bin Khalid Khayyat say, Makhrama bin Bukayr brought out some books and said, These are my father's books, I did not hear any of them directly from him." The Ibn Hilal whom Bukhari refers to by this kunya is Imam Ahmad, that is, Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Hanbal bin Hilal. But others disagreed with this denial of his having heard them. Ibn Abu Uways said, "I found on the back cover of a book of Malik's, I asked Makhrama about what he narrates from his father, whether he heard it from his father, and he swore to me, By the Lord of this structure, I heard it from my father." And even if he did not hear it from his father but rather found his books and transmitted from them, then this is a sound wijada (transmission by finding written material), which in my view is no lower in rank than actual hearing.Abu Bakr bin Abdullah bin Ashaj is trustworthy, firmly reliable, and trusted. See 811.This hadith is among the additions of Abdullah bin Ahmad.
