Abu Hurairah reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you is to sell against his brother's sale, and none of you is to propose marriage where his brother has already proposed."

A sahih hadith. Bukhari reported it, volume 4, page 24, from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah 
. Malik also reported something similar in Muwatta, in the chapter, "A man proposing marriage over his brother's proposal," with the wording, "None of you should propose marriage over his brother's proposal." Muhammad said, "This is what we hold to, and it is the view of Abu Hanifa and the generality of our jurists."
