The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Were it not for the Children of Israil, meat would never spoil, and were it not for Hawwa, no woman would ever betray her husband."
وبإسناده قال قال رسول الله ﷺ لولا بنو إسرائيل لم يخنز اللحم ولولا حواء لم تخن أنثى زوجها الدهر
This is also sahih on account of the reliability of the Sahifah. It appears in the individual Sahifah, no. 57, and Bukhari related it [4:132–133, 54/6:261, 308 Fath], through the route of the Sahifah. Muslim also related it [4:179 S / 1:421 Bulaq] through its route as well. Bukhari's wording matches the wording of the Musnad here, which is what is established in its three manuscripts and in Jami al-Masanid. The wording of the hadith in the individual Sahifah is, "The food would not spoil and the meat would not decay," and the addition "the food would not spoil" is established in Muslim's narration through the route of the Sahifah. The hadith has already passed, in similar wording with this addition, at 8019, through the narration of Khilas bin Amr from Abu Hurairah. His saying "would not decay" means it would not rot or change.
