Abdullah bin Harith reported,

Uthman bin Affan stopped at Qudayd, and partridges were brought to him in large bowls with their legs sticking up. He sent for Ali , who was at that moment feeding fodder to a camel of his. Ali came with the leaves still falling from his hands. Ali held back, and the people held back as well.Ali said, "Are there any from Ashja here? Do you know that an Arabi once came to the Prophet ﷺ with ostrich eggs and the meat of a wild animal, and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Feed them to your family, for we are in the state of ihram'?"They said, "Yes, indeed."At that, Uthman got down from his couch and dismounted, saying, "You have spoiled it for us."

أن عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه نزل قديدا فأتي بالحجل في الجفان شائلة بأرجلها فأرسل إلى علي رضي الله عنه وهو يضفز بعيرا له فجاء والخبط يتحات من يديه فأمسك علي وأمسك الناس فقال علي من ها هنا من أشجع هل تعلمون أن النبي ﷺ جاءه أعرابي ببيضات نعام وتتمير وحش فقال أطعمهن أهلك فإنا حرم قالوا بلى فتورك عثمان عن سريره ونزل فقال خبثت علينا
