The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Why is it called the Day of Jumuah?"He replied, "Because on it the clay of your father Adam was molded, on it occurs the Blast and the Resurrection, on it occurs the Mighty Seizure, and in its final three hours there is a moment in which whoever calls upon Allah will have his prayer answered."

Its chain of transmission is daif, due to the weakness of Faraj bin Fadala and its broken chain, as will be explained later. The hadith appears in Jami al-Masanid wal-Sunan 7:310, taken from this very passage, and Haythami mentioned it in Majma al-Zawaid 2:164 as coming from another hadith that will appear later at 9898. He attributed both to the Musnad only, and said, "Their narrators are the narrators of the Sahih!" But Haythami made a gross error here. It is true that the other hadith, 9898, has narrators who are the narrators of the Sahih. But as for this hadith, whose chain contains Faraj bin Fadala, how could its narrators be the narrators of the Sahih! There is no doubt about the weakness of Faraj, and neither of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) included anything from him in their books.Furthermore, Ali bin Abu Talha, although there is disagreement about him, the stronger view is that he is reliable, as we explained at 3058. But he did not hear directly from Abu Hurairah, nor from any other companion. He transmits tafsir from Ibn Abbas, but scholars have stated explicitly that he did not hear it directly from him. He died in the year 143, so he certainly did not meet Abu Hurairah.Ibn Hajar was correct when he mentioned this hadith in Fath al-Bari 2:346, quoting it from the Musnad, and then said, "Its chain contains Faraj bin Fadala, who is daif, and Ali," meaning Ali bin Abu Talha, "did not hear from Abu Hurairah."
