Its chain of transmission is daif. Yahya bin Mutawakkil, Abu Aqeel, was deemed daif by Ahmad and Ibn Main, who said, "His hadith is rejected." Ibn Hibban said, "He alone transmits things that have no basis, and no one skilled in the craft would doubt that they are fabricated."Ibrahim bin Hasan was mentioned by Ibn Hibban among the trustworthy narrators. He is the brother of Abdullah bin Hasan, and the uncle of Muhammad and Ibrahim, the two sons of Abdullah bin Hasan who rebelled against Mansur. Bukhari gave his biography in Kabir, 1/1/279-280. His father, Hasan bin Hasan, was likewise mentioned by Ibn Hibban among the trustworthy narrators, and Bukhari gave his biography as well, 1/2/287, and in neither entry did he mention any criticism.Bukhari mentioned this hadith in Kabir, in the biography of Ibrahim bin Hasan, with the wording, "There will be a people esteemed by the Rafidah, who reject the religion." He narrated it from Muhammad bin Sabbah, from Yahya bin Mutawakkil, and it seems he did not consider it daif, since he did not criticize any of its narrators. Al-Hafiz also mentioned it in Tajil, page 14, quoting from the Musnad, without noting any defect in it, and without pointing out that Bukhari had narrated it in Tarikh.
