The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer of one who has broken his ablution is not accepted until he performs ablution again."A man from Hadramawt asked him, "What breaks ablution, Abu Hurayrah?"He replied, "Silent or audible passing of wind."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن همام بن منبه أنه
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تقبل صلاة من أحدث حتى يتوضأ قال فقال له رجل من أهل حضرموت ما الحدث يا أبا هريرة قال فساء أو ضراط
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it in 1:206-207, Fath al-Bari, from Abdul-Razzaq, with this isnad. Muslim also related it in 1:80, from Abdul-Razzaq as well, but he did not mention in it the question of the man from Hadramawt and his answer. The question of the Hadrami has already come, in similar wording, within hadith 7879.
