Its isnad is sahih. Zurara bin Awfa Amiri, his reliability was already established at 2820, and we add here that Ibn Saad mentioned him in al-Tabaqat 109/1/7, and Ibn Abu Hatim 603/2/1. He is a follower who narrates from Abu Hurairah directly, but here he narrated from him through an intermediary.Saad bin Hisham bin Amir Ansari Madani, cousin of Anas bin Malik, is a trustworthy follower. Ibn Saad, Nasai, and others confirmed his reliability. Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 67/2/2, Ibn Saad in 152/1/7, and Ibn Abu Hatim in 96/1/2. In H it appears as "Saeed" instead of "Saad," which is an error. We corrected it from K, M, Jami al-Masanid, and others.The hadith appears in Jami al-Masanid wal-Sunan 7:115, taken from this very place. Ibn Majah also narrated it at 950, through the route of Muaz bin Hisham, Ahmad's teacher here, with this same isnad. Busiri said in his Zawaid, "Its isnad is sahih, for Bukhari relied upon all of its narrators," though considering it among the additions to the Five Books is not accurate. For Muslim narrated it in his Sahih 1:144–145, through another route, from the narration of Yazid bin Asam, from Abu Hurairah, adding at the end, "and that remained like the back of a saddle."
