He used to inform them of this from the Prophet ﷺ, "When the servant of any of you has prepared his food for him and spared him its heat and smoke, let him seat the servant with him to eat. If he refuses, let him take a morsel, dip it in the gravy, and hand it to him."
حدثنا سفيان عن ابن أبي صالح يعني سهيلا عن أبيه
يخبرهم ذلك عن النبي ﷺ إذا كفى أحدكم خادمه صنعة طعامه وكفاه حره ودخانه فليجلسه معه فليأكل فإن أبى فليأخذ لقمة فليروغها ثم ليعطها إياه
Its isnad is sahih. It has already appeared repeatedly with similar wording, the first instance being 7334 and the last 792, from various routes on the authority of Abu Hurairah, and we explained it and clarified many of its routes at its first occurrence. I did not find it from this particular route anywhere else, that is, through the narration of Ibn Uyayna, from Suhayl, from his father.
