The Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge from the punishment of the grave, the punishment of Hell, and the trial of the Dajjal.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن بديل عن عبد الله بن شقيق
عن النبي ﷺ أنه كان يتعوذ من عذاب القبر وعذاب جهنم وفتنة الدجال
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Budayl, with the ba having a damma and the dal being unpointed and having a fatha, is Ibn Maysara Aqeeli Basri. He was a trustworthy Follower, and Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 1/2/141–142, as did Ibn Abu Hatim 1/1/428.Abdullah bin Shaqiq, with the shin having a fatha, Aqeeli Basri, his reliability was already established under 5217, and we add here that Ibn Saad mentioned him in al-Tabaqat 7/1/91, and Ibn Abu Hatim 2/2/81.The hadith was reported by Muslim, 164, from Muhammad bin Muthanna, from Muhammad bin Jafar, with this chain of transmission. Its meaning is established from Abu Hurairah through many routes, some of which have already appeared at 6236 and 7857.
