During the time of Ziyad, or Ibn Ziyad, a pouch was found containing grains the size of date pits, on which was written, "This grew in an era when justice was practiced."

This is a report about a man who is not reliable, and it is not a hadith, nor does it have any connection to the musnad of Abu Hurairah. But this is how it stands in the copies of the Musnad at this place.Abu Qahdam. Bukhari said in Kuna, number 576, "Abu Qahdam saw Abu Bakra." Then he said nothing further, so we cannot be certain whether this is the same man or someone else.Ibn Abu Hatim said in 4/4/429, "Abu Qahdam saw Abu Bakra. Mansur bin Zazan narrated from him."The Hafiz quoted Ibn Abu Hatim's statement in Tajil, page 514, and added, "Ibn Main and others declared him weak."In Lisan Mizan it says, "Ibn Main said, he amounts to nothing. Dulabi said, he is not reliable."He said in Tahrir Mushtabih, page 1387 (photocopied manuscript), "Abu Qahdam was a teacher of Awf Arabi." As for "Qahdam," the Hafiz vowelled it in Tahrir Mushtabih with fatha on the qaf, sukun on the plain ha, and fatha on the dal, meaning the plain dal. It occurs in M and J with an undotted dal, and in K it occurs as "Abu Jahdam," which is a plain error.This report is speech of no value. As for his saying "like pebbles" in Ikmal by Husayni and in Tajil by the Hafiz, "like the pebbles of Nawa," this is a variant found in the margin of K and M.
