The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you comes to his bed, let him dust it off with the inner edge of his lower garment, for he does not know what may have come upon it after he left. Then when he lies down on his side, let him say, 'In Your name, O Allah, I lay myself down, and by You I rise. O Allah, if You take my soul, forgive it, and if You send it back, protect it with that by which You protect Your righteous servants.'"
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا عبد الله بن عمر عن المقبري
عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا أوى أحدكم إلى فراشه فلينفضه بداخلة إزاره فإنه لا يدري ما حدث بعده وإذا وضع جنبه فليقل باسمك اللهم وضعت جنبي وبك أرفعه اللهم إن أمسكت نفسي فاغفر لها وإن أرسلتها فاحفظها بما تحفظ به عبادك الصالحين
Its isnad is sahih. It is a longer version of 7354, and a repetition of 7798. We have discussed it in detail at the beginning, and we pointed out its various routes of transmission, one of which is this narration.
