The Prophet ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Mecca, "Whoever shuts his door is safe, and whoever enters the house of Abu Sufyan is safe."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت البناني عن عبد الله بن رباح
أن النبي ﷺ قال يوم فتح مكة من أغلق بابه فهو آمن ومن دخل دار أبي سفيان فهو آمن
Its isnad is sahih, and it is an excerpt from a longer hadith that will appear at 10961 through the route of Sulayman bin Mughira from Thabit Banani. It appears in Sahih Muslim at greater length, 2:62-63, through the narration of Sulayman. Muslim also related it at greater length, 2:63-64, through the route of Yahya bin Hassan from Hammad bin Salama from Thabit Banani. Abu Dawud related something similar, shorter than Muslim's version, at 3024, through the route of Salam bin Miskin from Thabit Banani.Here, in the manuscript, is the end of the sixth part and the beginning of the seventh, meaning the division of the Musnad of Abu Hurairah in that copy into parts.
