The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked whether a man may pray in a single garment. He replied, "Does every one of you possess two garments?"
حدثنا محمد بن بكر حدثنا ابن جريج أخبرني ابن شهاب عن حديث أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن أن
أن رسول الله ﷺ سئل أيصلي الرجل في الثوب الواحد فقال ألكلكم ثوبان
Its isnad is sahih. It has already appeared as 7250, from the route of Zuhri, from Ibn Musayab, from Abu Hurairah. Muslim also related it, 1:145-146, from the route of Zuhri, from Ibn Musayab and Abu Salama together. It will also come later as 7149, from the route of Ayub, from Ibn Sirin.
