The call to begin the prayer was made and the people arranged themselves in rows. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us from his house and walked forward until he stood at his place of prayer. Then he remembered that he had not performed the ritual bath, so he said to the people, "Stay in your places."He returned to his house, then came out to us while we were still in rows. He stood to lead the prayer with water dripping from his head, having performed the bath.
حدثنا إبراهيم بن خالد عن رباح عن معمر عن الزهري قال أخبرني أبو سلمة
أقيمت الصلاة وصف الناس صفوفهم للصلاة وخرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ من بيته فأقبل يمشي حتى قام في مصلاه ثم ذكر أنه لم يغتسل فقال للناس مكانكم فرجع إلى بيته قال فخرج علينا ونحن صفوف فقام في الصلاة ينطف رأسه قد اغتسل
