The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade anticipating the month of Ramadan by fasting a day or two before it, except for a man who was already in the habit of observing a regular fast that happened to fall on those days.

نهى رسول الله ﷺ أن يتعجل شهر رمضان بصوم يوم أو يومين إلا رجل كان يصوم صياما فيأتي ذلك على صيامه
