When Friday comes, the angels sit at the doors of the mosque recording everyone who arrives for the Friday prayer. Once the imam comes out, the angels fold up their scrolls and enter to listen to the remembrance.The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who hastens early to the Friday prayer is like one who offers a camel as a sacrifice, then like one who offers a cow, then like one who offers a sheep, then like one who offers a chicken, then like one who offers" — I think he said — "an egg."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري أخبرني الأغر أبو عبد الله صاحب أبي هريرة
إذا كان يوم الجمعة جلست الملائكة على أبواب المسجد يكتبون كل من جاء إلى الجمعة فإذا خرج الإمام طوت الملائكة الصحف ودخلت تسمع الذكر قال وقال النبي ﷺ المهجر إلى الجمعة كالمهدي بدنة ثم كالمهدي بقرة ثم كالمهدي شاة ثم كالمهدي دجاجة ثم كالمهدي حسبته قال بيضة
Its isnad is sahih. The apparent form of the first part suggests it is a stopped narration (mawquf) attributed to Abu Hurairah, but it is in fact a raised narration (marfu). Its status as marfu is established in the earlier narrations, which we will point out, and in the two narrations following it. Its meaning has also already appeared divided between two hadiths, 7257 and 7258, both narrated by Zuhri from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, marfu in both. It also already appeared at 7510 and 7511 from Abdul-Ala, from Mamar, with this same isnad, marfu in both as well. And the first part of it already appeared at 7572 with three isnads, one of them from Zuhri from Aghar, from Abu Hurairah, and the other two from Zuhri, from Aghar and Abu Salama, both of them from Abu Hurairah.
