Its isnad is sahih. Abu Urwa is the kunya of Muamar bin Rashid, the teacher of Abdul-Razzaq. The hadith appears in Abdul-Razzaq's Tafsir, pages 73-74, with this same isnad, but without mentioning Muamar's kunya. Tabari likewise related it in his Tafsir 8:73, from Hasan bin Yahya, from Abdul-Razzaq. Ibn Kathir quoted it in his Tafsir 3:434 from Tabari, but a printing error occurred in it, dropping the phrase "Abdul-Razzaq informed us" from the isnad. Ibn Kathir then said, following his narration of it, "None of the authors of the six books related it!"This claim requires correction, for a similar version of it is found in Sahih Muslim. Muslim related it, 2:312, through chains going back through Hisham bin Hassan, from Muhammad bin Sirin, from Abu Hurairah, as a saying of the Prophet, with the wording, "Whoever repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will accept his repentance." So it should not be described as something none of the authors of the six books related. It will come again through the narration of Awf from Ibn Sirin, at 9119, and through the narration of Hisham bin Hassan from him, at 9505, 10424, and 10589.Even stranger than what Ibn Kathir did is what Hafiz Haythami did. He mentioned it in Majma al-Zawaid 10:189, with the wording found in Sahih Muslim, then said, "Tabarani related it in Al-Awsat, and it contains Hasan bin Abu Jafar, who is daif!"
