The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah says, 'The son of Adam offends Me when he says, How wretched is time! For I am Time. I turn its night and day, and if I wish, I take them both away.'"
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim narrated it, 2:196, from Ubayd bin Humayd, from Abdul-Razzaq, with the same wording. However, in Muslim's version there is an addition after his words "he says, 'O misfortune of time'" [so let none of you say, "O misfortune of time"]. It is presented at greater length at 7244. See also the hadith preceding this one.
