Someone asked Abu Hurayrah about drinking while standing. He replied, "Nephew, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when his mount was made to kneel. I was holding its halter, or its reins, with my foot placed on its foreleg. A group from Quraysh came and stood around him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a vessel of milk and he drank from it while on his mount. Then he handed it to the one on his right, who drank standing, and so on until the entire group had drunk standing."

سأل أبا هريرة عن الشرب قائما قال يا ابن أخي رأيت رسول الله ﷺ عقل راحلته وهي مناخة وأنا آخذ بخطامها أو زمامها واضعا رجلي على يدها فجاء نفر من قريش فقاموا حوله فأتي رسول الله ﷺ بإناء من لبن فشرب وهو على راحلته ثم ناول الذي يليه عن يمينه فشرب قائما حتى شرب القوم كلهم قياما
