Abu Hurayrah reported, raising it to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "When one of you prays, let him pray toward something. If there is nothing, then a staff. If he has no staff, let him draw a line. Then whatever passes in front of him will not harm him."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر والثوري عن إسماعيل بن أمية عن أبي عمرو بن حريث عن أبيه
ة رفعه قال إذا صلى أحدكم فليصل إلى شيء فإن لم يكن شيء فعصا وإن لم يكن عصا فليخطط خطا ثم لا يضره ما مر بين يديه
Its isnad is daif. This same isnad has already appeared for this hadith at 7386, 7387, 7388, following the two other isnads for this hadith, and we established at 7386 the reason for its weakness, namely that its isnad in all three chains is confused (mudtarib), and that the scholars of hadith terminology have cited it as an example of an inconsistent isnad.
