The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people of Yemen have come to you. They are gentler in heart and more tender in feeling. Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni."Abu Muawiya added in his version, "The head of disbelief is toward the East."
حدثنا أبو معاوية ويعلى قالا حدثنا الأعمش عن أبي صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ أتاكم أهل اليمن هم ألين قلوبا وأرق أفئدة الإيمان يمان والحكمة يمانية قال أبو معاوية يعني في حديثه رأس الكفر قبل المشرق
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a longer version of 7201. Muslim (1:30) also related it through Abu Muawiya, from Amash, with this same isnad. He then related it through Jareer, from Amash. Bukhari (8:76-77) related it through Shubah, from Sulayman, who is Amash, from Zakwan, who is Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, in similar wording.
