Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man's prayer in congregation surpasses his prayer at home or in the marketplace by some twenty-odd degrees. That is because when one of you performs ablution thoroughly, then heads to the mosque intending nothing but the prayer, with nothing driving him out except the prayer, he does not take a single step without being raised one degree by it and having a sin removed from him because of it, until he enters the mosque. Once he enters the mosque, he is considered to be in prayer for as long as the prayer keeps him there. The angels continue to send blessings upon any of you as long as he remains at the spot where he prayed, saying, 'Allah, forgive him. Allah, have mercy on him. Allah, accept his repentance,' so long as he causes no harm there and so long as he does not break his ablution there."
